Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information PhotoCoach AI (“the app”, “we”) collects, uses and processes when you use it. The app is developed and published by PhotoCoach AI.
In three sentences. Most features run right on your iPhone and your photos never leave the device. Only two features — AI erase and AI retouch — send a photo to a server for processing, and always because you chose them. We don't keep your photos after processing, we don't require an account, and we don't sell personal data.
1. Scope
This policy applies to the PhotoCoach AI app on iOS. The app works without an account; we don't build user profiles and don't sign you in with an identity.
2. Information we process
| Type | Purpose | Processed where |
|---|---|---|
| Live camera feed | Pose detection, scoring, AI director suggestions | On-device only — never sent, never stored |
| Photos you choose to edit | Object removal, retouch, manual adjustments | On-device, or the cloud if you choose AI erase / AI retouch |
| Motion sensor | Showing the level indicator | On-device only |
| Minimal technical data on server calls | Handling the request, preventing abuse (e.g. daily usage count) | Server, not tied to your identity |
We do not collect your contacts, GPS location, browsing history, or data from other apps.
3. On-device vs. cloud processing
Runs entirely on-device
These features use your iPhone's own capabilities; images and results never leave the device: pose guides, pose scoring, the AI director, the level indicator, manual adjustments (skin smoothing, brightness, contrast, tone, color, slimming), and Quick erase.
Cloud processing (chosen by you)
Two features send a photo to our server for an AI model to process:
- AI erase — sends the photo together with the area you brushed, to rebuild the background.
- AI retouch — sends the photo to retouch it in the look you selected.
Before sending, the photo is downscaled (longest edge up to 2048 pixels) and stripped of attached metadata such as location and device (EXIF). The photo is used only to produce the result returned to you; we do not store photos on the server and do not log photo contents. After the result is returned, the photo is removed from processing memory.
4. Third parties
To provide AI erase and AI retouch, our server forwards the photo to the AI model service of Google (Gemini API) solely to process your request. Processing at this provider is governed by their terms and privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy.
To enable Quick erase, the app downloads an AI model file (about 200 MB) once, from a public distribution host. That download transfers only the model file — none of your photos or personal information.
Note for the release team: if you add any analytics, measurement or advertising SDK, add a matching disclosure here and in your App Store privacy details.
5. Device permissions
- Camera — to show the viewfinder, detect poses and take photos.
- Add to Photos — to save the photos you take or edit; the app requests add-only access and does not read your whole library.
- Motion — to show the level indicator.
You can revoke any permission at any time in iOS Settings; the related features will stop working accordingly.
6. Storage and retention
- Photos and edits are stored on your device (and in your Photos library if you save them). They remain under your control.
- Photos sent to the server for cloud features are not retained after processing.
- The usage counter for cloud features (abuse prevention) is just a number, not tied to any photo or identity, and is not used to identify you.
7. Your rights
Because the app has no accounts and does not store your photos on the server, we hold no personal profile to look up or delete on request. You fully control the photos on your device and can delete them or uninstall the app at any time. If the law where you live grants you rights over personal data, please contact us using the section below.
8. Children
The app is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us so we can address it.
9. Changes to this policy
When we update this policy we'll change the date at the top and, for significant changes, notify you in the app. Continued use after an update means you accept the new version.
